Are you a recent college graduate or young professional looking to break into the exciting world of ticket sales? Get ready, an exciting adventure is waiting for you! However, before you plunge into this competitive industry, let me share some insider tips that will help you find success. The strategies in this blog are sure to give you a leg up on your journey toward becoming a top-performing salesperson.

Network: In any industry, networking is key to opening doors and making valuable connections. As a college student,  it can be  difficult to learn about how to get noticed by recruiters. If you're still in school, it's really important to attend industry events, career fairs, and virtual seminars, and utilize platforms like theClubhouse® to meet and learn from experienced professionals in the ticket sales field. Talk to people, ask questions, and be persistent in communicating with those who inspire you. These connections can provide valuable guidance and mentorship as you navigate your career in ticket sales.. The more informational conversations you can have with professionals in a position you want will only help you make more informed career decisions when it comes to finding the best role for your personality and skill set.

Ask for Help: Don't be afraid to ask for help when you need it. Starting a new career can be overwhelming but remember that everyone has been in your shoes at some point. Reach out to colleagues or mentors for advice or support when facing challenges. Additionally, don't hesitate to seek help from the top performers on your team when you're struggling. Don't try to reinvent the wheel when you start out, learn best practices, and focus on implementing the coaching you receive with consistency.

Set Goals: Goal setting is a crucial aspect of success in Sales. Take some time to reflect on where you want to go in your ticket sales career and set achievable short-term and long-term goals for yourself. These goals can include increasing your sales numbers, improving your communication skills, or securing more group sales accounts. Most people aren't naturally born sellers, it's a skill set that takes time to develop. Set small achievable daily goals and focus on getting a little bit better each week. The amount of rejection in ticket sales can quickly lead to burnout, but setting goals is a way to keep the job fun and keep you motivated. One of my favorite daily goals was to get 10 NO's in Row. This game teaches you not to be afraid of rejection and you'll be amazed at how difficult it becomes to reach 10 NO's without a YES over time.

Consume Educational Sales Content: In the digital age, there is an abundance of educational content available at our fingertips and encourage our sales reps take advantage of the webinars, blogs, and training vault on theClubhouse®. In addition, there's plenty of great Sales-related Podcasts, YouTube Channels, and Social Media influencers to follow. Everyone pursues a career in Ticket Sales because they love sports, but the only ones who have lasting careers are the ones who learn to fall in love with Sales. Stay updated on industry trends and best practices through these resources and apply them in your day-to-day work.

Believe in Yourself: Lastly, believe in yourself! Ticket sales is a challenging field that requires resilience and determination. You will face setbacks along the way, but don't let them discourage you. Have confidence in your abilities and trust the process. With hard work and perseverance, you will achieve your goals and find success in this dynamic industry. The philosophy of my alma mater, Springfield College, is that wellness comes from a balance in spirit, mind, and body. It's also my belief that a person’s emotional, intellectual, and physical lives are interconnected. Ticket Sales is a role where team performance can create the highest of highs and lowest of lows. When your efforts are met with frequent rejection, it can waiver even the most confident person. Make sure that you maintain a balanced life outside of work filled with activities and people that can uplift your spirit, mind, and body whenever burnout sets in.

In conclusion, starting a career in ticket sales can be an exciting and rewarding journey. Believe in yourself, stay determined, and always remember to enjoy the fact that we get to work in sports. Good luck on your path to success!
